
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) is discussing whether to sanction non-complying member states as part of an effort to increase governance and compliance.
Officer-in-charge of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy Unit, Gladys Young says some member states still have a challenge in implementing some policies due to several issues.
Ms. Young says , contrary to common misperceptions, member states have been trying to comply and CARICOM has been offering assistance.

Ms. Young was speaking at a Rural Communities CSME Workshop in Mandeville today.
The Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME), is an integrated development strategy envisioned at the 10th Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) which took place in July 1990 in Grand Anse, Grenada.
